FIRE RATED GLASS

Fire Rated Glass in the event of the fire can provide an effective barrier to fire, smoke & hot gasses (integrity). Wired glass is produced by carefully embedding wire mesh or metal wires into glass.

On exposure to fire the glass fractures but is held in one piece by the wire mesh, thus maintaining integrity by preventing collapse, & the passage of smoke & flames. The use of these glasses can also act as a deterrent to would - be intruders.

Classifications of Fire Rated Glass

Integrity only :

Prevents the passage of significant quantities of flames or hot gasses to the non - fire side. Ex. Polished wired, Tempered type

Radiation control :

Controls radiated heat in front of the non-fire side, below a certain specified level. Ex. Laminated type

Unique manufacturing Process :

The central glass polished wired glass is produced by a unique manufacturing process ccalled "DUPLEX PROCESS", in which both surfaces of the glass are simultaneously ground & polished in one continuous operation. This process makes it possible to create a flat & smooth surface.
