FIRE ALARM SYSTEM

  • Of the system. The Panel is situated where the technicians can draw attention throughout the day. The Panel consists of different modules: ZONE, AC, DC, CHARGER, ALARM, TIMER, CONTROL, DPM.
  • Zone senses fire, open and short circuit of the respective zone, cabling network, gives visual indication and sends the signal to control module.
  • AC module consist of ON/OFF switch, fuse, mains indicator and fuse blown indicator.
  • DC module consists of AC to DC rectifier, 24-volt regulator, DC supplies fuse and fuse blown indicator.
  • Charger module consists of charger circuit and monitor circuit to monitor the condition of batteries
  • Alarm consists of alarm circuits.
  • Timer modules consists of a timer circuits.
  • Control part receives fire and fault signal from various modules then it gives the fire /fault signal to alarm module. Alarm cancel circuit stops the signal to alarm card when alarm cancel button is pressed. Master test of fire, open and short signals are derived from this module. These signals are injected through zone module test switch. Last test signals are also taken from this module.
  • Digital panel meter shows the status of ac voltage, system voltage, and battery current.
  • Other major important parts: Ionization Smoke Detector, Electronic Hooter, Manual Call Point, Heat Detectors, Response Indicator.

Smoke Detector

It senses any smoke or smoke dust in and around it in the atmosphere. Also it provides signal at the time of fire or toxic fume. Ionization smoke detector is a high quality engineered product and provides a well maintained alarm and fire detection system

Electronic Hooter

It is designed to provide audio alarms mainly to alert and evacuate during fire conditions. Under panic situations the tone generated from the alarm system is fed to the hooter from the hooter terminals. The speaker gives an audible alarm of 64db at a distance of one meter. Input- signal from FAP, Current- 100mA (Avg), Sounder- 64db.

MANUAL CALL POINT

The special device for the fire alarm system is a switch with a fragile glass labeled plate "In case of Fire Break Glass" is provided. When the glass is broken the pressed switch is released and this is transuded in to a signal, which in turn is processed by the panel. A red LED is used to indicate the activation of this device and is latched till the panel is reset, provided the glass is replaced. Quescent Current- Nil, Alarm Voltage - Less than 10 Volt, Accessories - Hammer & Chain.

Heat Detector

Heat Detectors are reset table type and use a pair of matched thermistors to sense a build up of heat . Supply Voltage - 17-28 V dc, Alarm Current at 24V - 66 MA, Alarm Indication - LED, Normal Operating- -20+90c, Humidity- 0-95% RH, Max Wind- Not Affected, Remote alarm Output Current- 80 MA.

Response Indicator

It is a device to indicate that the detector has sensed the fire. It is used wherever the detectors are installed in invisible area like above false ceiling, below false floor, and closed rooms etc. Size- 3" x 3" x 1", LED- 5mm Red color, Supply Voltage - 24 V dc.
